37 BNP, Jamaat workers held in Ctg, Bogra

Police in their separate drives arrested 37 activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir from different places of Chittagong and Bogra districts on Thursday night and Friday on charges of their involvement in vandalism and subversive activities.
In Chittagong, at least 24 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir were arrested from three upazilas of the district on Thursday night.Police said they arrested 11 Jamaat-Shibir men from Satkania, nine from Sitakunda and the rest four from Lohagarah. They were arrested on different charges, including sabotage.
In Bogra, plain-clothes police arrested 13 Shibir activists from different hostels of the district town adjacent to Govt Azizul Haque College on Friday noon.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted drives in the hostels in Jamilnagar area of the town around 12 noon and arrested the 13 Shibir activists. – UNB
