A suspected cattle lifter was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Luky village in Goainghat upazila upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Mantaj Ali, 40.Locals said when Rajendra Biswas raised a hue and cry sensing presence of cattle lifter around 1 am Saturday local people rushed to the spot and caught Mantaj.They gave him a good beating, leaving him critically injured.Police rescued him at 9 am Saturday and he died on way to Osmani Medical College Hospital.Mantaj’s wife filed a case with Goainghat police station accusing 16 people. -UNB, Sylhet
