A minor girl drowned in a pond at Mirpur in Sirajganj district town on Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Ishita, 7, daughter of Ismail Hossain of the same area.
Family sources said Ishita went to take bath in the pond nearby her house at abound 12:00 pm and drowned.
Later people recovered her floating body from the pond.
A pal of gloom descended upon the area following the incident. -UNB, Sirajganj
