Speakers at a discussion meeting here have stressed for properly flourishing latent talent of the girl children to ensure their equal
universal rights and make equally worthy citizens for sustainable national uplift.The Hunger Project- Bangladesh organised the discussion for female leaders of Bikoshito Nari Network (BNN), who have completed foundation training course on women and children rights, at Rangapur Shahittya Parisat auditorium here on Thursday afternoon.Noted educationist and social activist Principal Fakhrul Anam Benzu attended the discussion as the chief guest with General Secretary of district unit of Sushashoner Janno Nagorik and valiant freedom fighter Akbar Hossain in the chair.President of district unit of BNN and noted women leader Ira Haque,its Vice-president Dilara Hossain Dulari and Regional Coordinator of The Hunger Project- Bangladesh Rajesh Dey Raju addressed the occasion as the special guests.The speakers stressed for ensuring education, health care, equal rights, safety and social security of every girl child, stopping early marriage and all sorts of violence against them to flourish their talent in congenial atmosphere in the greater national interest.There is no alternative to ensuring universal child rights to turn every girl child into a worthy citizen as the country’s womenfolk have been contributing equally in every sphere of national uplift accelerating the pace of socioeconomic advancement, they said.The chief guest suggested for extending all necessary assistances to the girl children for flourishing their latent talents through eradicating the prevailing discriminations to ensure their equal participations in uplift activities for building a developed Bangladesh.At the end of the discussion, a 13-member executive committee of Rangpur district unit of Girl Child Advocacy Forum was formed with Principal Fakhrul Anam Benzu and Shahin Nazneen as its President and General Secretary respectively. –BSS, Rangpur
