Police arrested a young man in possession of 1,760 ampules of Indian sedative injections from Mundamala municipality area in Tanor upazila on Tuesday.The arrestee was identified as Mamun-ur-Rashid,38, son of Bazlur Rahman, a resident of Jaminpur village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.Ramzan Ali, assistant sub-inspector of Mundamala police investigation centre, said tipped off, a team of police conducted a search in a Rajshahi-bound bus coming from Amnura when the bus reached the area at about 12:30 pm.Police recovered the 1,760 pieces of Indian intoxicating injections from Mamun’s bag.Later, police arrested Mamun.Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tanor Police Station, confirmed the incident.A case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act. -UNB, Rajshahi
