Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 68 runs on second ODI to go 2-0 up in the series. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Top order started off brilliantly but middle order collapsed. Tamim and Anamul put together second highest opening partnership for Bangladesh. They scored 158 runs before Tamim was run out unfortunately.Tamim scored 76 and Anamul scored 80. When they were batting it seemed Bangladesh may score excess of 300 but they failed to do so. Bangladesh lost 4 wickets for 15 runs and then the run rate dropped. After Tamim was run out in the 33rd over, Bangladesh scored 67 runs in the next 14 overs. This faded the hope of getting a score around 300. But they managed to score 251 with a mature innings from Mominul of 33 runs.
Kamungozi and Panyangara took 2 wickets each for Zimbabwe. Even this score proved too much for the Zimbabweans. They lost 4 of their top order batsmen for 50 runs. Mashrafe took three of them and that earned him man of the match award. Zimbabwe were never in the chase properly, rather they seemed to be waiting for a miracle to happen.
Solomon Mire top scored for Zimbabwe with 50 runs. Captain Chigumbura scored quick runs until he was run out by excellent Sabbir Rahman. Arafat Sunny took 4 for 29, three of which came in the same over. Third match of the series will be held at Mirpur on November 26. That match is scheduled to began at 12:30 local time. – News Desk
