Joint Secretary of ruling Awami League Mahbubul Alam Hanif, MP said on Tuesday BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has announced to continue the nationwide blockade to take revenge against the people for not supporting their destructive programs.
He came up with the observation at a press briefing held at Dhanmondi office of the AL President here in response to Monday’s press briefing of Khaleda Zia.Organising Secretaries of AL AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Ahmed Hossain and Office Secretary Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap, were present at the briefing.
“She (Khaleda Zia) has announced war against the nation as the people wholeheartedly boycotted her destructive blockade and hartal in the name of movement,” he said.
“The alliance in an apparent move to take revenge against the people is now killing innocent people by charging petrol bombs and inhuman attacks to destabilize the country like the anti- liberation elements did during the War of Liberation,” he pointed out.
“We hoped that Khaleda Zia will announce to come out of the politics of vengeance and burning innocent people to death through the press briefing. But, we have seen with great regret that she has announced plan to continue the destructive blockade programme,” the AL leader said.
Coming down heavily on the BNP- Jamaat alliance for their ‘destructive activities’, he said, “Khaleda Zia’s declaration of continuing the blockade was mainly aimed at saving herself, her corrupt sons and the war criminals.”
He called upon the pro-liberation forces to form a greater alliance to fight terrorism, anarchy and sabotage in the name of movement to establish peace, ensure development and flourish democracy.
“Khaleda Zia has a link to (middle-east based) militant organization IS (Islamic State) that has planned to carry out a large scale sabotage,” he added.
Replying to a question, he said, “There is no political crisis in the country. Because, killing of innocent people by charging petrol and crude bombs is not a political program.”- BSS
