AFC Cup: Abahani return to winning ways beating Aizawl FC 3-0

Dhaka – Bangladesh Premier League champions Dhaka Abahani Limited returned to winning ways in their 3rd Group C match of the AFC Cup Football Tournament after suffering two consecutive defeats, beating hosts Aizawl FC of India 3-0 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday.The two teams will face each other in Dhaka on April 25.Saiful Bari Tito’s traditional sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani scored all the three goals in the first half of their do-or-die match.

Rubel Miah put Abahani ahead in the very 2nd minute, Nigerian booter Udoka Alison doubled the margin in the 17th minute while Japanese footballer Seiya Kojima confirmed the Abahani victory adding one more goal in the 37th minute.

Earlier, Abahani conceded 1-0 defeats against New Radiant Club of the Maldives and Bengaluru FC of India. For Aizawl FC it was a 3rd consecutive defeat in the AFC Cup after going down by the same margin of 3-1 in defeats against New Radiant Club and Bengaluru FC.UNB
