Afif, Tasamul close gap for East Zone 290/6 vs South Zone 296/10

Dhaka– Afif Hossain’s century of 137 and Tasamul Haque’s 98 runs helped Islami Bank East Zone close the gap against Prime Bank South Zone as they trailed by six runs with six wickets in hand in the first innings after the 2nd day’s play in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Monday.Replying to South Zone 1st innings collection of 296, East Zone resumed the day with overnight score of 4/0 in 8 overs and raised their tally to 290/4 in 98 overs spurred on by the 2nd pair’s contribution of 222 in 68 overs between Afif Hossain and Tasamul Haque.Overnight batsman Afif faced 238 balls and hit 17 boundaries while Tasamul Haque played an inning of 231 balls to fire six boundaries.Alok Kapali and Yasir Ali were batting with 26 and 1 runs respectively at stumps.Nazmul Islam Apu captured two wickets for 69 runs while Ziaur Rahman and Al-Amin Hossain took one wicket each for 25 and 56 runs respectively.UNB agency
