Hera Pheri, the comedy film starring Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty and Paresh Rawal has become a cult classic. No surprise then that the makers are planning to come out with its third installment. However, this reunion has taken longer than expected and we will have to wait some more to watch Raju, Shyam and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte’s crazy antics to unravel on the big screen.
A report in a leading daily suggests that Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty and Paresh Rawal will continue to play their original characters in this film, closer to their actual age. Hinting that there will be a time leap, a source shared that the film will take off from where Phir Hera Pheri ended and will fast forward into the present.
Apparently, producer Firoz Nadiadwala has brought the original director Priyadarshan back on board to helm this project. Priyadarshan also confirmed that he is in talks with the cast and producer Firoz but it will be a while before he begins filming the comedy. He said that he is currently busy with his Malayalam film, Marakkar: The Lion of Arabian Sea which is a huge film and he will only think about Hera Pheri after he’s finished with this one. Nothing is concrete yet, he concluded.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar too is busy with multiple projects. After delivering a hit with Kesari, the actor is currently wrapping up the shoot for Good News opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan. This year, he will also be seen in Housefull 4.
As much as we’d like to see this trio come together again in Hera Pheri franchise, we have to deal with the fact that it is going to take a while, reports ANI.
