Dhaka – Bangladeshi right-arm medium pacer Al-Amin Hossain emerged as the first bowler to take five wickets in a single over in any recognised form of cricket.The 23 years old Al Amin Hossain from Jhenidah District earned the rare feat in a Victory Day T20 Cup Cricket match that helped his team UCB-BCB Eleven earn a two-wicket win against Abahani Limited at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium on Thursday.
Al-Amin also became the second bowler to grab four wickets in four consecutive balls in Twenty20 Cricket. Andre Russell of West Indies A team achieved the feat earlier this year against India A in Bangalore.
With the first ball of the final over of the Abahani’s innings, Al-Amin Hossain removed Mehedi Maruf and two runs came in the very next ball.
In the remaining four balls, he dismissed Nazmul Hossain Milon, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Naeem Islam Jr and Nabil Samad to make the history. – UNB
