Amputee football held in city

Dhaka – The first edition of the Amputee Football for booters with disabilities, jointly organised by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Imago Sports Welfare Association, was held at the BFF artificial turf in Motijheel on Monday morning.

A total of 50 amputee footballers from across the country joined the event sponsored by Confidence Group and Muslim Sweets.BFF Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy was present as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Murshedy said, “I hope these footballers will develop their skills and capabilities and will lead Bangladesh in the Amputee Football World Cup. The federation will help them.”

Chief of HR of Confidence Group Tariqul Islam, Director of Muslim Sweets Asaduzzaman Rocky, President of Imago Sports Welfare Association Rezwan Uz Zaman and Co-founder of Amputee Football Mohammad Mohsin were also present. An amputee is defined as someone who is abbreviated at or near the ankle or wrist.UNB
