Dhaka – After winning two gold medals, Bangladeshi promising swimmer Ariful Islam clinched a bronze medal in the South Asian Swimming Championship held in the Sri Lanka capital Colombo on Saturday.He took the bronze medal in the men’s 50-meter freestyle with a timing of 25.11 seconds. Sri Lankan swimmers clinched both the gold and silver medals of the event,UNB News Agency Reported.Earlier on Wednesday, Ariful Islam clinched his first gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke clocking 1:08.21 seconds while he earned the 2nd gold medal in the 50-meter breaststroke for Under-81 boys with a timing of 30.94 seconds on Friday.
