First Ortho Rin Court of Dhaka on Sunday extended time for discussion to find a resolution among the plaintiff, defendant Dandy Dying Company and the Bank in connection with the default loan of 45 crore.Judge Mohammad Rabiuzzaman of the court passed the order following a time petition submitted on behalf of the mediator, Advocate Abus Salam. On October 3 of last year, the court made lawyer Abdus Salam as the mediator in the case.
Meanwhile, the mediator summoned the representatives of the bank, plaintiff and defendant of the case and all of them had several meetings. But they could not come to a conclusion as the main defence council Barrister AKM Fakhrul Islam is in the jail custody in a case filed against him.
On October 2, 2012, Sonali Bank Limited filed the case against the defendants after the Dandy Dying Company failed to pay off the a principal loan with interest, accumulated over 11 years, to Tk 45.49 crore.
The company had borrowed Tk 12.16 crore from the bank’s principal office in the capital on October 16, 2001, says the case statement. – Court Correspondent
