Asia Cup final: Liton’s century boost Bangladesh

Dhaka – Bangladesh opener Liton Kumar Das completed his maiden ODI century and continued his composure as team total was on 178* for 5 in 40th over against India in the final of 14th Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.Liton was batting on with run-a-ball 111* including 11 boundaries and two sixes, completing his century in the 28.4 overs taking a single off Kedar Jadhav when Bangladesh collected 145 for 4 wickets, and now pairing with Soumya Sarkar [18* off 29b; 1×6] in the 6th wicket.
Liton and Mehidy Hasan Miraz shared an opening partnership of 120 off 20.5 overs which is the first hundred-run stand for Bangladesh openers in the tournament after their openers managed 5, 16, 15, 15 and 1 for the first wicket from the openers in the last five matches.
Miraz [32 off 59b; 3×4] was caught by Ambati Rayudu off Kedar Jadhav, and then Bangladesh’s next four wickets — Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun and Mahmudullah Riyad — were out on single digits within a span of 23 off 7.1 overs.
