Dhaka – Four more teams — China, Oman, Pakistan and Hong Kong — arrived in the capital on Thursday to participate in the
seven-nation 4th Boys Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey-2016 beginning here on Saturday at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will inaugurate the meet as the chief guest while Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy will also be present as a special guest.On the opening day, hosts Bangladesh will play India at 3 pm while China face Hong Kong at 11 am and Pakistan will meet Chinese Taipei at 1 pm.China, Oman, Pakistan and Hong Kong will make their practices at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Friday.Earlier, India and Chinese Taipei, which reached Dhaka on Tuesday, practised on Thursday alongside hosts Bangladesh at the same venue.Earlier, Bangladesh were placed in Pool A along with India and Oman while the Pool B comprises of Pakistan, China, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong.Seven teams will be fighting for the continental crown in the youth category from September 24 to 30.Pakistan and India are considered the strong favorites in this event in the absence of South Korea and Malaysia, the champions and runners-up of the last edition of this tournament, held in Singapore in 2011.
