Attack on Chittagong BNP office: BCL sues 45 BNP activists

Chittagong, Jan 21 -A case has been filed against 45 BNP leaders and activists a day after an attack on BNP office in Chittagong city. Md Mosharaful Haque, Executive Member of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong city unit, filed the case with Kotwali Police Station accusing 45 BNP men including unnamed 20 people on charge of vandalising vehicles, exploding cocktails and attacking Chhatra League men from BNP office.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Md Nezam Uddin said when some BCL men were crossing the BNP office with a procession on Wednesday night some BNP activists attacked them.
When some miscreants exploded cocktails in front of BNP office some BNP leaders chased the miscreants at 10:30 pm on Wednesday.
An hour later, some miscreants swooped on the BNP office at Nasiman Bhaban, besieged BNP Mayor candidate Dr Shahadat Hossain and some other BNP leaders at the office and vandalized several vehicles, said BNP Chittagong city unit office secretary Idris Ali.
Later, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, he said. – UNB
