Australia captain Smith to return from India to rest wrist

Dhaka  – Steve Smith is set to return from India for treatment on his injured right wrist ahead of Australia’s tour to the West Indies.Cricket Australia medical manager Alex Kountouris on Monday said the Australian skipper had struggled with pain in the wrist for a week during a domestic Twenty20 tournament in India.Kountouris says “From the information we have, this doesn’t appear to be a serious injury but we are keen to give him the time to recover and rehabilitate before heading to the West Indies.”Allrounder Mitchell Marsh was earlier recalled from India because of a side strain.Australia will play the West Indies and South Africa in a limited-overs tri-series in the Caribbean starting June 5, then
travels to Sri Lanka for a three-test series starting July 26. (AP/UNB)
