DHAKA – State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russell MP said Bangabandhu was an inexhaustible source of inspiration for oppressed, exploited and denied people around the world, a Press release said.
He was speaking as the chief guest in the discussion doa mahfil, blood donation and tree plantation programme by the initiative of Gazipur Youth Department on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 45th martyrdom anniversary held on Monday at Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Youth Training center in Gazipur.
Later an inauguration programme of training course of Shaheed Ahsanullah Master youth training center was also organised there.
The greatest Bengoli in all time Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has fought for the rights of the nation all of his life. He never compromised with injustice. He has established the right of the nation by enduring imprisonment and operation. He was an inexhaustible source of inspiration for oppressed, exploited and denied people around the world,” said the State Minister in the meeting.
Russell said Bangabandhu is not alive today but his ideal and dream are still alive. Bangladesh is not at a standstill rather the country is moving forward at an indomitable pace under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu’s worthy daughter and present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He urged the younger generation to embrace the ideology of Bangabandhu in order to establish the country as developed and prosperous Bangabandhu’s dream golden Bangladesh within 2041.
Earlier, the State Minister started the day through tree plantation at Shaheed Ahsanullah Master training center. He also inaugurated the blood donation program. Later a video footage on the working life of Bangabandhu and Ahsanullah Master were shown and a discussion was also held there.
Youth and Sports Secretary Mohammad Akhter Hossain was present as chief speaker while Gazipur Deputy Commissioner SM Torikul Islam were present as the special guest.
Gazipur Metropolis jubo league convener Kamrul Ahsan Russell was also present there.
Gazipur Youth Development Department director general Aktaruzzaman Khan Kobir (additional secretary) presided over the meeting.BSS
