Bangabandhu BPL to resume Friday

Dhaka – After a two-day gap, the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will resume on Friday with the match between Dhaka Platoon and Chattogram Challengers at 2pm at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Challengers are at the top of the points table with 10 from seven games with five victories. Rajshahi Royals and Platoon amassed eight points each, but Royals are at the second place for their better run-rate than the Platoon.

Mushfiqur Rahim-led Khulna Tigers are at number four with six points from five games with three wins while Cumilla Warriors, Sylhet Thunder and Rangpur Rangers are placed five, six and seven with four, two and two points respectively. Thunder and the Rangers amassed two points each, but due to the better run-rate, Thunder are at numbers six.

Dawid Malan of England is at the top of the list of the most-run scorers of the event. He accumulated 300 runs from six matches with one century and one half-century.

Mehedi Hasan Rana is at the top of the list of the most-wicket takers of the league with 13 wickets from five matches.

After the five-day second Dhaka-phase, the BPL will travel to Sylhet for a three-day phase. After that, the BPL will continue in Dhaka from January 7. The final of the event will take place on January 17 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.UNB
