Dhaka – Bangladesh golf star and Asian Siddikur Rahman (68) remained in the 4th slot, sharing the place with Australia’s Maverick Antcliff (69) carding eleven-under-par scoring 202 after the round three of the Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open 2019 at the Kurmitola Golf Course here on Friday.
Siddikur expressed his disappointment after fail to putt. “It’s great to shoot another bogey-free round. Everything was good today except my putting. I didn’t putt as well as I did in the last two rounds,” he said.
“I hope to make more putts tomorrow and jump up a little bit higher on the leaderboard. I made a long birdie putt on 17th from about 15 feet. That was my longest putt today,” he said.
“This is our National Open and it’s a big tournament for us. It’s important and I want to play well,” the golfer added.
Thai youngster Sadom Kaewkanjana stands on the verge of his Asian Tour breakthrough after signing for a three-under-par 68 to take a two-shot lead heading into the final round while Indian Rashid Khan also remained in his second position carding sixteen-under-par scoring 197.
But the biggest move was made by India’s Ajeetesh Sandhu, who returned with the day’s best score of a 65, thanks to six birdies, including four in-a-row from the 11th hole, to trail by six shots in solo third in the tournament, which is celebrating its fifth consecutive edition on the Asian Tour this week.
Among the other Bangladesh golfer Akbar Hossain (69) remained in his 7th slot, Sajib Ali (72) in 14th, Jamal Hossain Mollah (72) and Md Nazim (74) in 24th slot each and Muaj Mohammad (79) in 29th slot after the third round.
