Bangamata U-19 Women’s Int’l Gold Cup Football theme video released

Dhaka – The theme video of the first Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup Football Tournament officially launched at the BFF House in Motijheel on Monday.

The video, featuring prominent singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, marked the inspirational role of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the wife of Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

It also highlighted women’s rise in country’s football.

The first edition of Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019, organised by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and sponsored by K-Sports, will take place from April 22 to May 3 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.

Six U-19 women’s teams will fight for the title. Mongolia, Tajikistan and Laos will play in Group A whereas hosts Bangladesh will take on UAE and Kyrgyzstan in Group B.

Bangladesh will play UAE in the opening match on April 22 at 6pm (Bangladesh Times).

CEO of K-Sports Fahad Karim said that their goal is to promote the tournament named after Bangamata and women’s football in Bangladesh.

BFF Vice-President Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, K-Sports Director Ashfaq Ahmed, Executive Director Muntasir Bhuiyan, singer Bannya, director of the videos Gazi Shuvro were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, a promo campaign of the tournament was held on April 3 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.

Seven dramas under the title of ‘Egiye Jawar Nei Mana’ as the theme of the tournament and nine short films on the life of Bangamata are currently being made.UNB
