Bangladesh 251 all out in first innings

DHAKA – Left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama claimed 6-92 on his debut as Sri Lanka wrapped up Bangladesh for 251 in the first innings of the second and final Test at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Bangladesh needed 294 runs to avoid follow-on after Sri Lanka declared their first innings on 493-7. The visitors though failed to score required runs, Sri Lanka opted not to enforce follow-on.

Opener Tamim Iqbal was the highest scorer for the side with 92 while skipper Mominul Haque made 49. Mushfiqur Rahim was the other notable scorer with 40.

Jayawickrama was ably supported by fast bowler Suranga Lakmal and off-spinner Ramesh Mendi who both scalped two wickets apiece.BSS
