Bangladesh Biman got a new member Meghdoot

The fifth of ten Boeing aircrafts has been added to the national carrier’s fleet.The 162-seater Boeing 737-800 will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here on Friday afternoon, said a press release.

After integrating the new aircraft into the fleet, the number of aircrafts will rise to 13.

Another Boeing 737-800 aircraft would be added to the fleet in the next month.

In 2008, the airline went into an agreement with The Boeing Company for acquisition of 10 new generation aircrafts, consisting of 4 Boeing 777-300ERs, 2 Boeing 737-800 and 4 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the biggest ever deal in the history of the airline. They have already delivered four Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to Biman.

Presently Biman flies to 15 destinations of Middle East, Europe and Asia.

As per the agreement, Boeing is scheduled to deliver the remaining Boeing 787 Dreamliners by 2019-20.
