Bangladesh Biodiversity Bill, 2016 placed in JS

Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain today placed the “Bangladesh Biodiversity Bill, 2016” aimed at strengthening the measures of biodiversity conservation in the country.He said the proposed bill would highlight biodiversity in the perspective of Bangladesh as the country is a party to the Conventional Biological Diversity of the UN.Later the House sent the bill to the concerned parliamentary standing committee for scrutiny and send it back by one month.Earlier, the cabinet gave approval to the draft at a weekly meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on November 23, 2015.
