Bangladesh cricketers outclass Afghanistan in Under19 WC

Bangladesh colts thrashed Afghanistan by ten wickets in their opening match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2014 on Saturday.
A maiden over by Abdullah Adil was the only high point of the Afghan bowling line-up as the Bangladeshi openers chased down the target of 212.18-year old Shadman Islam Anik scored 126 off 142 deliveries and his companion Joyraz Sheik, who is a year younger from Anik, scored 81 to hand Bangladesh the big win in their first match of the tournament.
Earlier, winning the toss, Bangladesh invited Afghans to bat first and bundled them out for 212.
Mosaddek Hossain picked up three wickets for the winning side while Rahatul Ferdous grabbed two.
Bangladesh, who hammered Papua New Guinea by 165 runs and also beat England by four wickets in their warm-up matches, will take on Namibia in their next game of the tournament on Feb 17.-bdnews24.com
