Bangladesh maintains all-win run beating Faroe Islands 3-1

Dhaka – Bangladesh U-16 Football team maintained the all-win record in the four-team UEFA Assist Under-16 Development Tournament beating European side Faroe Islands by 3-1 goals in their 2nd match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Friday.

Hosts Bangladesh made good start in the league-basis meet beating Cambodia U-16 team by 2-0 goals in their first match while Faroe Islands outplayed Maldives 10-3 in the opening match of the tournament on Wednesday.

In the day’s match, medio Moinul Islam Moin, who scored both goals against Cambodia on Wednesday, also struck twice on Friday in the 26th and stoppage time (94th minute) of the match.

Substitute forward Polash Ahmmed Nova netted in the other goal for Bangladesh in the 79th minute while defender Mourits Mohr Bisgaard scored the lone goal for Faroe Islands in the 73rd minute.

Bangladesh will meet the Maldives on October 20 in their remaining league games at the same venue.

UEFA, the governing body of European football, has arranged the football tournaments to spread and popularise the football in the less developed countries offering an additional opportunity to talented footballers in competitive international matches.UNB
