Dhaka – Bangladesh stormed into semifinals in the Youth Olympic Games Hockey [Asian Zone] qualifying round after a 3-3 draw against Pakistan in their 5th match in Thailand on Friday.
Bangladesh brighten their chance for semifinals berth crushing Chinese Taipei by 12-2 goals in another match of the day while Pakistan lost their respective match to Malaysia by 1-12 goals.
With this victory, Bangladesh confirmed a seat in the top-four of the 11-team five-a-side fray.
The top two sides of the competition will qualify for the Youth Olympic Games Hockey to be played in Argentina in October 2018.
Bangladesh started their group campaign with 10-4 victory against Singapore and maintained the spree crushing Cambodia by 20-0 goals before conceded a 4-7 goal loss against Malaysia.UNB
