Dhaka,May 21: The death toll from coronavirus stood at 408 with 22 more fatality recorded in the country in 24 hours till Thursday afternoon.Besides, 1,773 more tested positive for the deadly virus during the period, taking the number of confirmed cases to 28,511.
This is the highest single-day death toll as well increase in confirmed cases.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed this in a daily online bulletin on Thursday.
A total of 10,262 samples have been tested across the country in the past 24 hours.
In the health bulletin, Dr Nasima urged all to follow the health instructions given by the DGHS and the WHO.
