Bangladesh sees 41 more Covid deaths, 1,892 cases Thursday

The recovery rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh reached 70.14 percent on Thursday as 2,746 patients got cured from the deadly disease in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Thursday, pushing up the number of total recoveries since March to 2,33,550.

Besides, the daily infection rate in Bangladesh declined to12.16 percent during the period as 1,892 new patients were detected after testing 15,642 samples.

With the latest figure, the number of total cases in the country rose to 3,32,970 which is 19.7 percent of the total tested population.

Bangladesh reported 41 more deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the death tally to 4,634.An official release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the latest information.

It said 12.16 in one million people have been diagnosed with the virus during the period while 1955.12 contracted the disease since March 8.

Currently, there are 94,786 active cases in the country as it is seeing 1,371.35 recoveries per million while 27.21 are dying.

Since March 18, the release said, 3,613 men and 1,021 women have died of the disease.

Of the 4,634 victims, the highest 2,319 are above 60 years of age, 1,258 between 51 and 60 years, 609 between 41 and 50 years, 279 between 31 and 40 years, 109 between 21 and 30 years, 40 between 11 and 20 years and 20 others are below 10 years.

So far, 2,239 people have died in Dhaka division, 984 in Chattoram, 311 in Rajshahi, 393 in Khulna, 178 in Barishal, 209 in Sylhet, 220 in Rangpur and 100 in Mymensingh divisions.

Across the country, 18,417 people are now in isolation while 50,718 in quarantine.

In Bangladesh, the first three cases of coronavirus infection were detected on March 8 and it crossed 3,00,000 on August 26.On July 2, some 4,019 Covid-19 patients were identified in the country, the highest in a single day.
