Bangladesh stuns South Korea in Hockey

Bangladesh stunned hockey aficionados beating giant South Korea by 2-0 goals in their 3rd and last pool B match of the 8th Junior Asia Cup (Men’s) Hockey in Kuantan city of Malaysia on Tuesday, says news agency UNB.With the day’s feat, Mahbub Haroon’s Bangladesh finished runners-up in the four-team Pool B after Pakistan, who emerged champions with all-win record beating bottom-placed Oman by 7-1 goals at the same venue on Tuesday.Sarwar Hossain put Bangladesh ahead in the 25th minute by a field goal while Milon Hossain confirmed the Bangladesh’s well-merited victory scoring another field goal in the 46th minute.Later, Milon Hossain of Bangladesh was adjudged man of the match.Earlier, Bangladesh achieved their first target in the ongoing Junior Asian Cup Hockey beating arch-rival Oman by 5-4 goals in a keenly contested match after losing the opening match to another giant Pakistan by 1-3 goals.
Pakistan dominated the pool B with all-win run beating South Korea 3-0, Bangladesh 3-1 goals, apart from crushing Oman by 7-1 goals while Korea earned one win in three matches beating winless Oman by 5-2 goals.
Earlier, Bangladesh was placed in Pool B of the eight-nation meet with Pakistan, Oman and South Korea while pool-A comprises host Malaysia, India, Japan and China.
