Dhaka-Bangladeshi GM Ziaur Rahman shared the 2nd slot with other 23 players in the 11th International Chess Festival’ 2018, securing four points after the 5th round matches in Bhubaneswar of Odisha in India on Sunday.Bangladeshi FM Taibur Rahman and M Jamal Uddin earned 3 points each, Avik Sarker, Sazzad Kishor and Jodunath Biswas earned 2.5 points each. CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, CM Sohel Chowdhury, Md Anisuzzaman Jewel, Mezanur Rahman, Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Sadnan Hasan Dihan and Sohel Rana Pritom bagged 2 points each.
In the 5th round matches, GM Zia drew with IM Ravi S Teja of India, FM Taibur drew with Mrudul Dehankar of India, Jamal beat Rohan Bharat Joshi of India, CM Chanchal lost to Jayachandra Srinivas Vellanki of India, CM Sohel lost to Neha Singh of India, Tahsin lost to Om Kharola of India, Avik drew with Bragadeeshwaran Chidambaram of India, Jewel lost to WCM Sahithi Varshini of India, Mahbub lost to WFM C Lakshmi of India, Mezan drew with Acosta Mariano of USA, Dihan drew with Harshit Ranjan Sahu of India, Jodunath beat Mallick Saswant of India, Sazzad beat Akshath Sinha of India.
