Bangladesh’s first game goes into reserve day

Dhaka — Bangladesh’s first game of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier against Papua New Guinea in Dundee, Scotland was hit by rain on Saturday, and will now be played on the reserve day set aside for it on Monday.

Apart from PNG, Bangladesh will also be facing USA and Scotland in the group stage second and final game in the group stage of the event.

The league-cum-knockout tournament will decide the two qualifiers for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia.

A total of eight teams are fighting in the qualifying tournament along with Bangladesh and the hosts Scotland. The winners of the two semi-finals will book a place in the main event in Australia next year.

Bangladesh are playing in Group A along with Papua New Guinea, Scotland and USA while Group B consists of Ireland, Thailand, Namibia, and the Netherlands.
