Branches of scheduled commercial banks dealing with readymade garment industry will remain open on July 15 to facilitate payment of salaries and festival bonus of the RMG employees.A circular of Bangladesh Bank said it is being advised that the commercial bank branches in Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj and Chittagong concerned with readymade garment industries should stay open on July 15 for the sake of payment of salaries and bonus to the employees.
The circular also mentioned that the bank branches in airports, seaports and also land ports will as usually remain open on the day as per the existing circular of the Bangladesh Bank.
The banks were also advised to pay due remuneration to their staff for working on the day.- UNB
