Bangladesh Bank has issued a circular directing all the scheduled banks in 59 districts to keep their branches closed on Sunday on the occasion of the 10th national election being boycotted by the main opposition BNP and its allies. However, the banking operation will remain normal in five other districts – Joypurhat, Rajbari, Madaripur, Shariatpur and Chandpur — on the day but clearance activities will remain closed, said the circular issued on Wednesday. The circular has already been sent to the chief executives of all the banks. – UNB
