BCB XI on brink of semi beating KSCA Secretary XI by 10 wick

Dhaka – Touring Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI brightened their semifinal hopes in the ongoing Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah Memorial Cricket Tournament, also known as Mini Ranji Trophy, beating Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary XI by 10 wickets inside three days on Wednesday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.With the well-merited win, BCB XI go top of the 4-team Group B point table securing 11 points from three matches with one win and two draws.
Vidarbha Cricket Association are at the 2nd slot with 8 points, KSCA Secretarys XI at the 3rd slot with 5 points and Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy are bottom with 3 points.
Resuming 2nd innings with overnight score of 100 for 3 in 26 overs, KSCA Secretary XI, who were trailing by 254 runs in the first innings, were all out for 340 in 85.2 overs, giving an easy winning target of just 86 runs for BCB XI with more than a day’s play remaining.
The nightwatchman Abhinav Manohar, who was remained unbeaten on 37 runs pervious day, smashed 117 runs off 136 balls hitting 16 fours and 3 sixes for KSCA Secretary XI while his teammates Praveen Dubey and Vinay N Sagar scored 55 off 83 balls and 59 off 92 balls respectively.
Ebadot Hossain claimed figure of 3/84 for BCB XI while Shohidul Islam, Ariful Haque and Moninul Haque bagged two wickets each conceding 117, 57 and 5 runs respectively.
BCB XI opened their 2nd innings on Wednesday afternoon and registered the victory scoring 86 without any loss in 24.1 overs before the stumps.
Shadman Islam knocked 52 off 60 deliveries hitting 8 fours and 1 six for touring BCB XI while another opener Jahurul Islam scored 32 off 85 balls.
Earlier on first day (Monday), after electing to field first, the BCB XI restricted KSCA Secretary XI to only 79 runs in the first innings.
Shohidul Islam grabbed five wickets conceding 20 runs in 16 overs while Ariful Haque 3 for 22 and Ebadot Hossain claimed 2 for 36 for the Bangladeshi side.
In reply, BCB XI were all out for 334 in 102.3 overs on second day (Tuesday), riding on three half centuries Najmul Hossain Shanto (72 off 125 balls), Kazi Nurul Hossain (68 off 87 balls) and Shadman Islam (59 off 93).
Anand Doddamani took 4 wickets for 59 runs while K S Devaiah and Praveen Dubey bagged 2 wickets each conceding 64 and 55 runs respectively for KSCA Secretary XI.UNB
