BD A settle for draw against Sri Lanka A in four-day match

Dhaka — The second and final four-day match of the two-match series between touring Bangladesh A and hosts Sri Lanka A ended in a draw on the 4th and final day at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota on Monday.

Resuming the 2nd innings with overnight score of 126 for no loss in 38 overs, Sri Lanka A posted 357 for 2 wickets in 107 overs.

Right-handed opener Pathum Nissanka scored 192 off 307 balls.Besides, Sangeeth Cooray (89) and Kamindu Mendis (not out 67) hit half-centuries.

For Bangladesh, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain bagged the lone wicket while another was run-out.Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 268 for all in 92.2 overs while batting first in the game. Pathum (85) and Kamindu (62) had also hit a fifty each in the first innings.

Miraz grabbed the limelight in the first innings taking seven wickets conceding 84 runs in 37 overs with 14 maidens. In reply, Bangladesh posted 330 for all in 83.1 overs. Mominul Haque led from the front hitting 117 off 190 balls while Shadman Islam struck a fifty.

For Sri Lanka, right-arm pacer Mohamed Shiraz bagged five wickets conceding 63 runs in 21.1 overs while Prabath Jayasuriya took three and Asitha Fernando scalped two wickets as well.

Right after the two four-day games, both teams will face each other in a three-match one-day series.The matches of one-day series will be held on October 9, 10 and 12. The first two games will be played at Hambantota and the last match will take place in Colombo.UNB
