BD girls are well prepared ahead of AFC U-16 Women’s Champs

Dhaka – Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s Football team are well-prepared ahead of their campaign in the eight-nation AFC U-16 Women’s Championship against hosts Thailand on Sunday (Sept 15) at Chonburi Stadium.

Bangladeshi girls remained unbeaten playing three practice matches against two Thai clubs ahead of the meet.

Bangladesh beat Muangthong U-17 Girls Academy team twice, first by 1-0 and other by 3-1 goals, and played to a 2-2 draw against Kasetsart University Women’s team.

Bangladesh Head Coach Golam Rabbani Choton believed that his girls are well-trained and well-prepared ahead of their first match against hosts Thailand on Sunday at the Chonburi Stadium.

“I am proud of team’s performances in the practice matches, Girls are well-prepared and well-trained ahead of their first match against hosts Thailand on Sunday,” said Chotan on Friday.

Captain of Bangladesh U-16 team Maria Manda echoed voice of the coach and said, “Our preparation is very good that will help us in the main battles.”

Bangladesh girls are now staying at Hotel Arize in Chonburi.

Earlier, Bangladesh put in Group A alongside hosts Thailand, Japan and Australia while Group B comprises of defending champions North Korea, runners-up South Korea, China PR and Vietnam.

In their remaining group matches, Bangladesh will face Japan on September 18 and Australia on September 21, both at IPE Chonburi Stadium.

The champions and runners-up teams of the eight-team qualifying round will represent Asia alongside hosts India in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2020.
