BD Red Crescent installs over 10,000 hand-wash basins

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has set up a total of 10,179 basins in the country to encourage people to wash their hands frequently amid the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

The hand-wash basins were installed in Dhaka and elsewhere across the country through the 68 Red Crescent units of 64 districts , said a press release.

As part of its campaign , Bangladesh Red Crescent Society also distributed nearly 9.5 lakh leaflets among people to raise awareness to flight this pandemic.

It continues food assistance for the affected people as well as different other awareness programmes on prevention and control of the coronavirus in the country.

The Red Crescent Society runs a psychosocial assistance cell to provide psychosocial help services to people amid the crisis.

Anyone can avail the prescription and necessary treatments from experts making call to 01811-458541 and 01811-458542 during the 9am-5pm period from Sunday to Thursday.

Alongside the leaflets, the Red Crescent Society has been distributing sanitizers including soaps and hand sanitizers, face-masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) to motivate people to maintain social distancing.
