BD v WI: Mehidy shines with ball too as Tigers secure big 1st inns lead

Dhaka, Feb 5 (UNB): Bangladesh secured a handy 171-run first-innings lead in Chattogram after wrapping up West Indies for 259 on Friday.
At one point, West Indies were batting at 253 for five. They lost their last five wickets in six runs and ended up getting dismissed for 259 in 96.1 overs.
After registering his first Test ton a day ago, Mehidy Hasan Miraz completed a four-wicket haul on Friday.
Captain Kraigg Brathwaite scored 76 for the tourists, which was the best by a West Indian batsman. Jermaine Blackwood hit 68 while making a 99-run stand in the sixth wicket stand with Joshua Da Silva.
West Indies lost their last 5 wickets in just 40 minutes.
For Bangladesh, Mehidy bagged four conceding 58 runs while Mustafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan took two wickets each.
Bangladesh had a horrible start to their second innings as they lost two wickets for one run which came from a no-ball.
Rahkeem Cornwall trapped Tamim Iqbal and Najmul Hossain Shanto lbw in the second over of Bangladesh’s second innings.
