Dhaka- Bangladesh U-16 Women’s team, now touring China as a part of their preparations for the final round of the AFC Championship, completed their tour with a 3-1 goals victory over Chinese U-14 team at the Olympic Sports Village in Xian of Shaanxi Province on Wednesday.Visiting Bangladesh team, which made a frustrating start losing the opener 0-1 and settled for a goalless draw in the 2nd match against Chinese U-14 team, dominated the 3rd match against them from the very beginning, said a BFF media release on Wednesday.Bangladesh took lead in the very 8th minute when defensive midfielder Ratna made a good through ball to striker Shopna, who found the net with neat side footer after dribbling past opponent defender and custodian (1-0). Goalkeeper Mahmuda made a good save when she came off the goal line quickly to smother a shot low to her right.The visitors doubled their margin again through striker Shopna in the 23rd minute (2-0). It was a planned and rehearsed corner kick delivered by Sanjida to Shopna, who scored by a powerful header.In the 45th minute, Shopna missed a good opportunity to make a hat-trick as well as to extend Bangladesh’s lead.In the 51st minute, Bangladesh survived a scare as goalkeeper Mahmuda went off her line and right back Sheuli had to make a goal line clearance.Midfielder Ratna missed a good chance to score when right winger Sanjida passed a good ball to her in the 66th minute.The last 10 minutes of the game were full of excitement.Left winger Monika Chakma scored the 3rd goal for the visitors in the 87th minute (3-0).A corner kick of Bangladesh was cleared by Chinese booter as far as left back Anai, who delivered a delightful high cross onto the edge of the 6-yard box. Monika beat the Chinese central defender and the goalkeeper to poke the ball home.However, the Chinese team scored a consolation goal in the very last minute of the match through a counter-attack (3-1).With almost similar ball possession, both teams had 10 shots each on and off target.Bangladesh managed six corners against Chinese three.Despite conceding a last minute goal, center backs Masura and Nargis were solid throughout the 90 minutes.In a very even and close fought game, Bangladesh made no substitutions as the starting eleven were very well with positive football, ball possession and attacking games that resulting 10 shots on and off the target.The team is scheduled to return home on Thursday.UNB news agency
