Be alert to contain coronavirus spread during Eid: Quader

Dhaka, July 08 – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday urged all to be alert to prevent coronavirus transmission during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. During a virtual press conference from his official residence, he also insisted on avoiding gatherings and follow health guidelines during the Eid holiday.
Quader said that a section of dishonest people are cheating people during the coronavirus crisis in samples testing, issuing certificates and plasma donation. The government has taken a strong stance against all these scams and irregularities.
Such deception is nothing but a ruthless trade over the helplessness of people, he said.
Some people are moving freely hiding their coronavirus symptoms and infections, while some others are going abroad with negative certificates and they are being identified as positive at airports, said the minister.
The intense competition to go abroad and hiding truth is tarnishing the image of the country, said Quader.
Calling upon people to take treatment from isolation if there are coronavirus symptoms, he said if they conceal the information of coronavirus, the country’s image and the fate of millions of expatriates will also turn into uncertainty.
Expressing gratitude to the frontline coronavirus fighters, including doctors, Quader said, “The nation will remember you with respect as you have set an example of sacrifice and morale amid the coronavirus crisis.” – UNB
