The time is apparently overdue for present day political parties of Bangladesh – in particular, the major political parties – to undergo inter alia balancing, modernization and rehabilitation (BMR) exercises for their individual and collective survival, continuity and growth under intense competitions, increasing uncertainties and other challenges, as well as opportunities at local, global and other levels. Human environments (say, environments of Gene mechanics) in Bangladesh are, as appropriate, becoming more dynamic, more right, as well as entitlement sensitive, more consciously active, more freedom and liberty loving, more entrepreneurial, more pro-justice for all at all time and more pro-human respect, to mention a few – than those in the past – against the backdrop of the people’s effort towards creating and sustaining their own futures, futures of Bangladesh and through that, futures of the world large – all, under global interdependencies and other developments.According to Gene mechanics, human environments are products of inter alia and as appropriate interplays of human + other genes and rest of the creation and vice versa that eventually find for instance human expressions via outcomes of peoples’ expressions + expectations + satisfactions + perceptions + motivations + morale + visions + frustrations + hopelessness + activities + other things.
Aggregate outcomes from present day politicians, politics and political parties are not apparently sufficient for meeting internal, external and other types of challenges, as well as opportunities associated with say human environments in Bangladesh – thus, failing to assist people of Bangladesh in the effort towards taking the full charge of their development to their maximum satisfaction at say per capita levels. Further, products of politicians, politics and political parties of Bangladesh lack, as proper, equity and equality at distribution, deprivation and other levels on account of for example harmful partisan politics, corruption and harmful individualism – all, at eventual costs of Bangladesh and its people. The need for improvement of supply situations of ‘quality’ and affordable political products for people of Bangladesh have so far echoed – directly,
indirectly or otherwise as appropriate – through pre-election political statements of present PM Sheikh Hasina, former PM Khaleda Zia and other politicians. Statements of Begum Zia at the Westin yesterday (21 October 2013) bear the latest testimony (till the writing of the article) to the above.
Outcomes of reforms of Bangladeshi politicians, politics and political parties have not yet become instrumental in inter alia accelerating development of Bangladesh at the required rate. There are several reasons for that. For example – aggregate human environments in SAARC region have not yet, owing to several limitations, able to influence the external environment of human environments in Bangladesh for purposes such as creating,
sustaining and promoting demand and supply for maximum productivity, minimum wastage (if not elimination) and maximum satisfaction in relevant areas. Further, the internal environment of human environments in Bangladesh is yet to be enriched in a manner that could transform people of Bangladesh into masters of politicians, as well as political parties and not the other way round especially, when it comes to political accountability, transparency, respect for people and performance, to mention a few.
One of the pieces of good news is, one of the declarations made by Begum Zia on 21 October 2013 on political reconciliations in the overall context of change for better in Bangladesh. “I want to initiate that by saying something very empathetically,….in unequivocal terms that I forgive those who in the past have unfairly treated me and my family and have made personal attacks and continue to do so. We shall not take any vengeful steps against them even if we form the government in the future.” “She assured that she will look ahead focusing on the business of providing a brighter and more secure future for Bangladesh.” “I don’t have time and will not waste time focusing on the past and on retaliation.”
The declaration has, in certain ways, set a good example in areas say creation of initial conditions for political reconciliations under present political situations in the country. It is fine and is required. It is expected the declaration will become a practical reality from now onwards in relevant areas. It is also expected other politicians and political parties will follow the example of Begum Zia.
The last word, developmental areas such as and as appropriate political reconciliations in the national interest; the right and affordable justice for all at all levels at all time; elimination of wastage, as well as harmful partisan politics; respect for people and their election votes; equity and equality at decision-making, entitlement and other appropriate levels; enlargement of people’s choices; stoppage of anti-people treatments by political parties; honesty is the best policy; emotional intelligence; tatespersonship; effective leadership and leadership by example; to mention a few, should be improved drastically for facilitating, among other things, survival and continuity of existing political parties and birth and development of new generation politicians, politics and political parties.
