BNP on Sunday sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina demanding the disclosure of bilateral documents signed with India during her visit to the neighbouring country last month.Party joint secretaries general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and Khairul Kabir Khokon took the letter, signed by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) around 12:15pm and handed it over to PM’s special assistant barrister Biplob Barua.
The Prime Minister is now in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the Dubai Airshow 2019.
Biplob Barua welcomed the BNP leaders as they reached the PMO and entertained them.
Exchanging greetings with the BNP leaders, Barua said, “I, on behalf of the Prime Minister, received the letter. The Prime Minister is now on a state visit to the UAE. On her return home, we’ll hand over the letter to the PM.”
PM’s personal secretary-2 Wahida Akhter, deputy press secretary Hasan Zahid Tushar and assistant press secretary MM Imrul Kayes were present.
On October 5 last, Bangladesh and India signed seven bilateral documents after a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, reports UNB.
