Dhaka – Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) on Wednesday observed the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace as part of the United Nations global programme. The BOA programme began at BOA Bhaban in the afternoon with the hoisting of National, UN, IOC, OCA and BOA flags.BOA Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza, UN Representative Edward Rees, BOA Vice President Rafia Akhter Doly, Deputy Secretary General Ashiqur Rahman Miku and Treasurer Kazi Rajibuddin Ahmed Chapal hoisted the flags.Later, the BOA arranged a seminar at its Dutch-Bangla Auditorium marking the day.
National Course Director Mahfuzur Rahman Siddiqui read out the keynote paper in the seminar.BOA Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza was the chief guest at the seminar while Peace and Development Advisor in the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Dhaka Edward Rees was a special guest.,BOA VP Rafia Akhter Doly and SA Games gold medalist weightlifter Mabia Akhter took part in the discussion in the seminar.agences
