Body of domestic tourist girl recovered from Kuakata hotel

Dhaka, March 03 – Police recovered the body of a tourist named Ishita, 19 from a residential hotel ‘Holiday Inn.’ in Kuakata, Patuakhali. The body of the tourist was recovered from the hotel’s room number 108 around 8 am on Tuesday morning and sent to Patuakhali morgue for autopsy. A UD case has been filed at the Mahipur Police Station in this connection.Md. Moniruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Mahipur Police Station said that a young man named Razzaq was staying at the hotel with a female tourist on the afternoon of February 29, after being identified as husband and wife. In the registrar of the hotel, their address is mentioned in the Keshabpur Upazila of Jessore. On Tuesday morning, Razzaq was reported to have been roaming the Sea-beach when he called on his mobile phone to pay the hotel manager’s room rent. Later, Razzaq closed his mobile phone. At that time manager, Suman Majumder was suspected to have locked room # 108 from outside. Later, police recovered the body of the tourist girl from the room when the matter was reported to the police station.
Manager Suman Majumder said Razzaq told him that he was on the sea-beach when he called for room rent. On examination, his mobile was found off.
Mahbubur Rahman, OC (investigation) of Mahipur Police Station, said, the death was mysterious. After the postmortem report, it will be possible to know the actual incident. – Staff Reporter
