Dhaka – The lone goal scored by Ballo Famoussa helped Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra register their fifth victory in 11 matches beating Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club by 1-0 goal in their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football match at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Friday.
After a goalless first half, Muktijoddha SKC booters were desperately seeking chances to score. They continued their attack and finally got the success in the 69th minute when Ivory Coast recruit attacking midfielder Famoussa netted the goal for them.
With this feat, Famoussa (8) climbed the top of the scorer list along with Dhaka Abahani’s Nigeria recruit Sunday Chizoba Nwadialu, followed by another Dhaka Abahani forward Mohammad Nabib Newaj Jibon (7).
Despite showing some good efforts, Mohammedan failed to score the equaliser and faced their fourth straight defeat.
The fifth victory in 11 matches means that sixth-placed Muktijoddha SKC have now 17 points, four clear of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. On the other hand, bottom-placed Mohammedan with 5 points remained in the 11th spot with eight losses in 11 matches.UNB
