Britney Spears will shack up at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas for a residency that will feature 50 concerts over a two-year period. Spears announced the residency, “Britney: Piece of Me,” today on Good Morning America, arriving by helicopter in the Nevada desert where she was greated by a cadre of fans dressed like schoolgirls in the singer’s “. . . Baby One More Time” video.
“I’m definitely ready,” Spears said in an interview, adding that the concerts will include a mix of her biggest hits, plus new material, and that she’s training five hours each day for the big show. “Piece of Me” will open December 27th; 16 dates have been announced so far.
Tickets for “Piece of Me” will be available through Spears’ website and will go on sale September 20th, with prices ranging from $59 to $179.
The news comes right on the heels of Spears’ latest single, “Work Bitch,” which leaked last weekend just a day ahead of its official release. The song is set to appear on Spears’ upcoming eighth studio album, which was executive produced by will.i.am. – Yahoo Entertainment
