DHAKA – Brothers Union Club tasted their first victory in the Bangladesh Premier League Football when they came from behind beat Arambagh Krira Sangha by 5-2 goals held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.
In the day’s match, Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Moro put Arambagh ahead in the 10th minute from a penalty while midfielder Faisal Mahmood restored the parity for Brothers Union Club in the 45+3rd minute of the match.
After the breather, Nigerian forward Samson Iliasu put Brothers Union Club ahead in the 55th minute but the lead lasted for a few minutes while forward Nihat Zaman Ucchash leveled the margin scoring the second goal for
Arambagh in the 57th minute of the match.
Congolese forward Siyo Zunapio again gave Brothers Union Club a deserving lead scoring the third goal in the 61st minute while Faisal Mahmood further widened the margin scoring his second and fourth goal for Brothers
Union in the 71st minute of the match.
Mezbah Uddin sealed the victory scoring the fifth goal for Brothers Union in the 90+2nd minute of the match. With the day’s win, the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union secured five points from 11 matches while bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha remained at their previous credit of one point playing the same number of
matches.
Brothers Union Club will play their next match against Saif Sporting Club while Arambagh Krira Sangha will face Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society. Both the matches will be held on Friday (March 5) at the same venue.
Tuesday’s matches: Mohammedan Sporting Club vs Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at Shaheed Drirendranath Datta Stadium at 3 pm and Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at BNS at 4 pm.BSS
