BSTI revokes licenses against 8 food products

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has revoked the licenses provided against 8 products of six companies.

The companies concerned were asked to refrain from sales, distribution, storing and commercial advertising of the products without collecting valid licenses, while the consumers were requested to refrain from buying the products.

The licenses against the 8 products were cancelled at a meeting of BSTI certification committee, held on Monday, said a press release on Tuesday.

The products are ‘Basmati’ fortified edible rice bran oil of Green Oil and Poultry Feed Industries in Rangpur Kotwali, ‘Ifad Solid Gold’ fortified edible rice bran oil of Ifad Multi Products Limited at Ashulia in Savar, ‘Puriva’ and ‘Ripe’ fortified edible rice bran oil of Agrotech at Shamvuganj in Mymensingh, ‘Testi’ fortified palm olein of Green Trade House at Shibpur in Narsingdi, ‘OK’ fortified soybean oil and fortified palm olein at Chandgaon in Chattogram, and ‘RD Juicila’ and ‘RD Fazlee’ mango fruit drink at Mithapukur in Rangpur.
